Islamic Dream Interpretation of Circumcision, Washing Hands, and Ablution in Dreams
Interpretation of Circumcision in a Dream:
If someone dreams that they have been circumcised, they will perform a righteous deed through which their sins will be forgiven, and their troubles will be alleviated.
Qadi Abdul Rahman Wushnaqi of Qayrawan once dreamed that he had been circumcised. I told him, “Circumcision is considered a form of purification, and purification makes a person pure.” At that time, the Chief Qadi had removed him from his judicial position. I told him, “You will be reinstated to the position of Qadi.”
If someone dreams of themselves being uncircumcised, it indicates an increase in wealth and prosperity but a decline in religious devotion.
Interpretation of Washing Hands in a Dream:
Washing hands in a dream symbolizes deliverance from Hell and protection from fear. It can also signify attaining a position of authority or government.
Interpretation of Ablution and Bathing in a Dream:
Performing ablution in a dream signifies peace of mind, debt repayment, problem resolution, service to elders, and closeness to them. If someone dreams of completing their ablution, their needs will be fulfilled; if the ablution is incomplete, their needs will remain unmet. My interpretation in this matter has never proven incorrect.
If one sees themselves performing ablution for prayer but does not pray, it indicates that their need will not be fulfilled. Ablution represents peace and contentment because it cleanses impurities, leaving the person refreshed. Similarly, bathing holds the same significance.
Ablution symbolizes debt repayment because just as one is commanded to perform ablution in a specific manner, they are also commanded to repay debts. The connection between ablution and the fulfillment of needs lies in the intent and completion of ablution, reflecting the resolution of one’s pending matters. However, if someone performs ablution for prayer but does not pray, it indicates that their matter will not be resolved.
Ablution signifies closeness to significant figures because prayer, for which ablution is performed, is a means of drawing closer to Allah.
If someone dreams of performing ablution with impure or dirty water, it symbolizes the practice of innovation (bid’ah) and indicates that they will not achieve their objective.
A person who has been removed from a position and dreams of bathing and wearing fresh clothes will be reinstated to their position. If the dreamer is poor, they will become wealthy; if sick, they will recover; if imprisoned, they will be released; and if indebted, their debts will be paid. This interpretation is supported by the story of Prophet Ayub (Job, peace be upon him), who, after bathing and donning new clothes, was blessed by Allah with the return of his family, wealth, health, and relief from all his troubles.
