Interpretation of Drinking Medicine in a Dream:
If a sick person sees in a dream that they are drinking medicine that suits them, it is a sign of further distress. The same interpretation applies to cupping or bloodletting.
For a healthy person, drinking medicine or undergoing bloodletting in a dream indicates illness, during which they will require such treatment or remedies.
Sometimes, drinking medicine in a dream symbolizes the rectification of religious matters.
A ruler once saw in a dream that he underwent cupping, and his entire tent became soaked with his blood. The next morning, two black Africans entered his tent and killed him, and his blood splattered all over the walls of the tent.
Yazid ibn al-Muhallab dreamt that Hajjaj performed cupping on him. The interpretation of this dream was that he would be released from prison.
Some dream interpreters say that if someone dreams of being cupped, it signifies that they will be appointed as a governor, entrusted with a responsibility, made a party to an agreement, or married. This is because the neck symbolizes trust, and making an incision with a lancet resembles writing with a pen.
Interpretation of Cupping in Dreams
If the person performing the cupping in the dream is an old man, it signifies one’s destiny. If a young man does the cupping, it indicates an enemy who is writing an agreement that includes various conditions and debts.
If someone sees themselves performing cupping in a dream, it suggests that their status and position will be elevated.
If they see themselves cupping a young man, it means they will prevail over their enemy.
If an old man performs cupping on them, it implies they will hear something from a friend.
If a young man performs bloodletting on them vertically, it means they will hear taunts from their enemy.
If the bloodletting is done horizontally, it suggests that a relative may pass away.
The underlying message is that the process of bloodletting always causes discomfort, and the person undergoing it rarely escapes pain.
I believe that a person performing bloodletting in a dream always signifies causing distress, even if they are an acquaintance.
When someone harms another and causes them to be dismissed from their position, people say: “So-and-so opened the vein of so-and-so,” meaning that they caused significant harm to their opponent and prevented them from achieving their goal.
