Islamic Dream Interpretation of Games
If someone dreams of playing chess, it indicates a conflict with someone.
This dream can also signify:
Doubts regarding the dreamer’s earnings.
Disruption in worship or religious practices.
Moving from one place to another in search of a debtor.
If the dreamer is ill and the chess game concludes, it signifies the dreamer’s death, as it is said when a chess game ends, “The king is dead.”
If the dreamer is healthy and the game concludes, it means they will achieve their goal.
Some interpreters have said:
Playing chess, backgammon, or games involving dice and walnuts in a dream symbolizes deceit and disputes.
This interpretation is supported by the Quranic verse:
“Do the people of the towns feel secure that Our punishment will not come to them in the forenoon while they are playing?” (Surah Al-A’raf, 7:98).
If an official dreams of setting up a chessboard but not playing, it means they will be removed from their position.
If the official dreams of setting up the chessboard and playing chess, it indicates they will be appointed as a ruler or official, as kings are often associated with chess.
Some interpreters have also stated:
If someone dreams of playing only backgammon, it means they are engaged in unlawful business.
Playing games in dreams often symbolizes unjust conflicts.
In such dreams, the one who wins in the game is likely to prevail in reality.
