Islamic Dream Interpretation of Running and Walking
Interpretation of Running in a Dream:
Running in a dream signifies dominance over enemies in the place where the person is running.
A Hadith Qudsi mentions:
“If My servant remembers Me within himself, I also remember him within Myself. If he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a better gathering than that. If he comes to Me walking, I come to him running.”
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 7405)
This Hadith highlights Allah’s willingness to accept His servant’s repentance. Therefore, a person who runs towards Allah in their dream is assured that Allah will turn to them with even greater speed and attention.
Interpretation of Walking in a Dream:
Walking in a dream reflects the walker’s humility and modesty.
Luqman (peace be upon him) advised his son:
“And be moderate in your pace.”
(Surah Luqman 31:19)
Walking in the market during a dream symbolizes longevity in a position for someone in authority.
If the dreamer is an ordinary person and capable of holding a position, this dream foretells their appointment to a position. This interpretation is based on the Quranic verse:
“And they said, ‘What is this messenger who eats food and walks in the markets?’”
(Surah Al-Furqan 25:7)
