Islamic Dream Interpretation of Liquids, Alcohol & Intoxication in Dreams
As far as liquids derived from minerals or animals are concerned, if the dreamer’s body or hands are not affected when extracting them, it signifies the arrival of wealth and benefits. However, if the dreamer’s hands or body become stained during the extraction process, it suggests that the dreamer will face hardship related to the essence of that liquid.
Alcohol in a dream represents unlawful wealth. Drinking alcohol in a dream is also a sign of falling into trials and abandoning religious duties.
If someone in a position of authority dreams that they have drunk alcohol, it means they will be removed from their position.
One person narrated to Imam Ibn Sirin (RA): “I saw in my dream that I had two cups, one containing milk and the other containing wine.” Imam Ibn Sirin said, “Milk represents removal from your position, and wine also represents removal.” Within a few days, the person was indeed removed from their position.
Some interpreters suggest that if someone dreams they are intoxicated by something other than alcohol, it represents distress, as Allah says in the Quran:
“And you will see people drunk, yet they are not drunk.”
(Al-Hajj 22:2)
This verse implies that the person will experience some form of hardship or disturbance, even though they may appear to be unaffected.
If someone dreams of becoming intoxicated without consuming anything, it indicates the need to pay off debts and the arrival of hardships, as an intoxicated person is relieved of responsibility.
If the dreamer acts like a mad person as a result of intoxication, it suggests they may fall into heresy or commit major sins.
