Interpretation of Footwear in Dreams:
Dream of Socks:
- Seeing leather socks in a dream symbolizes travel and women.
- If someone dreams that their leather socks are lost or fall into a well, it indicates a sign of divorce.
- Selling these socks in a dream signifies the death of a woman, while tight socks symbolize imprisonment, overwhelming debt, and hardship.
Dream of Tight Socks:
- A person once dreamt of wearing new, tight leather socks. When he narrated it to Imam Qarafi, the scholar replied, “You will be imprisoned for catching or harming an animal.”
- Another individual saw a similar dream and was told by Imam Qarafi, “You intend to travel, but the tightness of the socks suggests obstacles preventing your journey.”
Wild Animals and Socks:
- If someone dreams of a wolf or a fox jumping on their socks, it means an immoral person is pursuing their wife.
Repaired Socks:
- Seeing a patch under one’s socks signifies marrying a woman who has children.
Dream of Shoes and Sandals:
- Shoes and sandals symbolize women or maidservants.
- If someone dreams of wearing shoes and walking, it means they will embark on a journey over land or sea. However, if they wear shoes but don’t walk, it signifies marriage.
Shoes with a Cobbler:
- Giving shoes to a cobbler for repair in a dream implies aiding one’s wife in committing immoral acts.
Walking with One Shoe:
- If someone dreams of walking with one shoe, it means they will divorce their wife, separate from a business partner, or begin a journey they cannot complete.
Shoes Made of Precious Metals:
- Silver shoes symbolize a beautiful woman.
- Lead shoes represent a weak woman, wooden sandals a hypocritical woman, and black shoes a wealthy and influential woman.
Feet and Footwear:
- Feet in dreams represent a person’s state, and any footwear seen in a dream reflects the same.
- Dreaming of torn or damaged footwear suggests a loss of rank or position.
Examples of Dream Interpretations:
- A judge once dreamt of a small hole in his footwear. The interpretation was: “You will soon be dismissed from your position.”
- Another person dreamt of wearing oversized socks and later received two months of extra salary.
Lost Shoes:
- A person told Imam Ibn Sireen that he dreamt of losing a shoe but later finding it. The scholar interpreted it as: “You lost some money but managed to recover it with difficulty.”
Shoes Indicating a Brother:
- Shoes in a dream may also signify a brother.
- Someone told Imam Ibn Sireen they dreamt of walking with two shoes, but the lace of one broke, and they left it behind. The scholar asked, “Do you have a brother who accompanied you on a journey?” When the person confirmed, the scholar said, “Your brother may have passed away.”
Uncomfortable Shoes:
- A person dreamt of wearing new, uncomfortable shoes. Imam Qarafi interpreted it as: “You may burn your foot or develop an abscess.”
- Another person dreamt of wearing tight, unattractive shoes with no heels, which made noise when walking. Imam Qarafi said, “Your wife troubles you greatly; she is loud, has a mark on her neck, and a defect in her eye. In your absence, she does not defend you against insults.”
Shoes Related to Kings:
- Someone dreamt of polishing the king’s shoes. Imam Qarafi interpreted it as, “You will become the king’s servant.”
- Another person dreamt of presenting beautiful shoes to the king. Imam Qarafi said, “Your means of transportation will be lost.”
