Meanings of Oil, Beans, Flour, and Bread in Dreams
Interpretation of Oil in a Dream:
Oil in a dream signifies lawful wealth.
Seeing sesame oil in a dream also indicates lawful earnings. Dry sesame seeds are considered better than wet ones in interpretation.
If oil or other grains are fried in a dream, it signifies trouble and distress.
Imam Shihab al-Din al-Qarafi said:
“Anything in a dream that is cooked over fire signifies hardship.”
If the food cooked on fire is eaten before it is fully prepared, it indicates difficulties, debts, losses, or the premature sale of trade goods.
Interpretation of Beans in a Dream:
Dry beans in a dream symbolize wealth obtained with happiness and ease.
In my opinion, seeing green beans indicates hardship. It has never occurred to me that I interpreted green beans in this way, and the interpretation turned out to be incorrect.
The general public often interprets it as a sign of unlawful wealth.
Interpretation of Flour in a Dream:
Flour, seen in a dream, symbolizes wealth and children.
If the flour is kneaded and leavened, it represents lawful wealth invested in trade, which brings immediate benefit.
If the flour is not leavened, it indicates corruption or problems in wealth and family.
Baking Bread in a Dream:
Baking bread in a dream signifies working hard to earn a livelihood.
Kneading barley flour indicates strong faith, attaining a position, and victory over enemies.
Interpretation of Bread in a Dream:
If someone sees in a dream that they are given bread, it symbolizes easy sustenance and the removal of sorrow.
Allah Almighty mentions in the Qur’an regarding the people of Paradise:
“All praise is due to Allah, who has removed our sorrow” (Fatir: 35:34)
Some Qur’anic commentators interpret the term “sorrow” here as the concern for bread.
If someone sees in a dream that they were given bread and ate all of it, it indicates an increase in their lifespan.
If a small piece of bread is given and eaten, it symbolizes the end of the person’s worldly life.
*Some interpreters suggest that this means the person’s life will pass in contentment because they were satisfied with little.
Some interpreters also say that bread in a dream symbolizes the marriage of a woman.
If someone sees bread hanging from their forehead, it indicates they will soon face poverty.
