Meaning of Olives, Apples, Pears, and Jujube in Dreams
Interpretation of Olive in Dreams:
Seeing olives in a dream symbolizes wealth. A sick person once dreamt that someone told him, “Take and bring olives; you will recover.” When the interpretation was sought from Imam Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him), he advised the person to eat olives, citing the following verse:
“[Neither of the east nor of the west]” (Surah An-Nur 24:35).
This verse refers to olives, and the repetition of “neither” in the dream indicated the olives as a cure. This interpretation is also attributed to other scholars besides Imam Ibn Sirin.
Interpretation of Apple in Dreams:
A sweet apple in a dream represents lawful wealth, whereas a sour apple symbolizes unlawful earnings. Just as human nature tends to avoid sour apples, it naturally avoids unlawful wealth.
- If someone dreams of smelling an apple in a mosque, it signifies the person’s praise and good reputation. However, smelling it in an inappropriate gathering indicates sin and disgrace.
- If a ruler dreams of plucking apples from an apricot tree, it implies imposing new taxes on the people that were not previously levied.
- If a king throws an apple toward someone in a dream, it signifies sending an envoy to assist that person in fulfilling their needs.
Interpretation of Pear in Dreams:
Seeing a pear in a dream symbolizes wealth and prosperity. The Arabic word for pear indicates abundance and riches.
Interpretation of Jujube (Ber) in Dreams:
Dreaming of jujube fruit suggests hardship and exhaustion. This interpretation has consistently proven accurate. Despite this, the general rule about jujube in dreams is that it signifies wealth.
- Seeing a jujube tree in a dream also indicates gaining a position or rank. Allah says in the Quran:
“He Who produces fire for you from the green tree” (Surah Yaseen 36:80).
Some scholars interpret the “tree” mentioned in this verse as the jujube tree and “fire” as a metaphor for attaining a position or authority.
