Interpretation of Seeing a Head in a Dream:

Seeing a human head in a dream symbolizes a person’s leader or authority figure, such as a father, guardian, owner, or teacher. This is because the human body relies on the head, just as subordinates depend on their leader.

A human head in a dream may signify a son, brother, close relative, principal wealth, home, or livelihood.

  • If someone sees their head looking beautiful in a dream, it indicates that the one symbolized by the head is in good condition.

  • If someone sees their head severed in a dream, it signifies separation from one of the individuals mentioned above, or, if the dreamer is wealthy, they may lose their wealth or face difficulties.

If the dreamer is ill or on a battlefield at the time of the dream, it may mean they will pass away.

Seeing a head in a dream may also signify gaining authority or leadership.

  • A large head in a dream signifies an increase in authority for men, while a small head signifies a decrease in authority.

  • Seeing multiple heads in a dream indicates an abundance of wealth, virtuous offspring, and success against adversaries.

  • If someone sees themselves bowing their head in a dream, it suggests they will suffer a loss or commit a disgraceful act. The verse from the Qur’an supports this:
“And if you could but see when the criminals hang their heads before their Lord…” (Surah As-Sajdah 32:12).

Sometimes, a bowed head in a dream may symbolize a long life, as indicated by the Qur’anic verse:
“And he whom We grant a long life, We reverse him in creation (weakness after strength).” (Surah Ya-Sin 36:68).

  • If someone sees their head turning into the head of a lion in a dream, it means they will gain authority and leadership beyond their capacity. This may also indicate a journey.

  • If someone sees their head transforming into that of a dog or another animal, it signifies hardship and suffering.

  • A human head turning into a bird’s head in a dream symbolizes frequent travel.

If a king sees his head turning into a ram’s head in a dream, it is an indication of his removal from power.

  • If a king sees severed heads in his hands, it means that people will follow his orders.

  • If someone dreams of eating the raw head of an unknown person, it means they will backbite someone and might even receive wealth from a ruler.

  • Eating the cooked head of a known person in a dream signifies the dreamer has consumed that person’s wealth.

If the person in the dream is unknown, it means the dreamer has consumed their own wealth.

  • If someone sees themselves holding a human head in their hands, it signifies reconciliation with a debtor to recover their wealth, as supported by the Qur’anic verse:
“If you repent, you shall have your capital (wealth).” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:279).

  • If someone dreams of severing their head and keeping it safe, it indicates they will gain wealth according to their faith and may recover from illness.

    Incidents from the Scholars:

  • A man told Imam Qirafi: “I saw myself holding a severed head in my dream.” He replied: “You will sell something that is worn on the head, like a hat.”

  • A woman told him: “I saw myself cutting off my head and replacing it with a new one.” He replied: “You received new clothing, lost a son, gave birth to another, and remarried after divorcing your first husband.” The woman confirmed the interpretation as accurate.

  • Another man told Imam Qirafi: “I saw my head breaking in a dream.” The Imam said: “You live under a dome, and it will collapse.” Indeed, the dome collapsed.

  • A boy said: “I saw my head falling from my hand and breaking.” The Imam replied: “You dropped a clay pot, and it broke.” The boy confirmed the interpretation.

Another man had the same dream, and the Imam said: “You dropped a watermelon, and it broke.” The man confirmed this as well.
