Meaning of Plums, Oranges, Peaches, Apricots, Jujube, Bananas, and Pomegranates in Dreams
Interpretation of Plum in Dreams:
Plums in dreams symbolize wealth and riches.
- If a sick person suffering from fever dreams of eating plums, it indicates recovery.
- A healthy individual dreaming of eating plums signifies continued good health.
Interpretation of Orange in Dreams:
Seeing many oranges in a dream represents the dreamer’s praise and reputation, while seeing a single orange indicates having a son.
A hadith states:
“A believer who recites the Quran is like an orange – its fragrance is pleasant, and its taste is sweet.”
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 5020)
Dreaming of oranges can also symbolize a noble and affluent foreign woman.
If someone dreams of cutting an orange in half, it foretells having a son, but due to the orange’s yellow color, the child may be weak.
If a woman dreams of wearing a crown made of orange tree branches, it suggests she will marry a religious and pious man.
Seeing a green orange in a dream indicates greenery and prosperity for a year.
Picking a green orange signifies good health for the dreamer.
A yellow-orange also indicates a prosperous year, but the dreamer may face illness.
Interpretation of Oranges in Dreams:
Most dream interpreters consider seeing an orange in a dream as undesirable because the word ” نار” (fire) is part of it. However, some believe that seeing oranges in a dream can have a positive meaning, but the benefits associated with it are less compared to seeing a sweet orange.
Interpretation of Peaches in Dreams:
Seeing an out-of-season peach in a dream signifies severe illness, as per a common saying: “As soon as you crave a peach, you fall ill.”
It was mentioned earlier that peaches symbolize difficulties and troubles. Personally, whenever I have seen peaches in a dream—whether eating, holding, or observing them on a tree—I have faced challenges or distress.
Interpretation of Apricots in Dreams:
Eating apricots in a dream is an indication of illness and misfortune because the seed inside is a reminder of potential harm, as it may damage one’s teeth.
The interpretation of other stone fruits is similar to that of apricots.
Some interpreters suggest that eating green apricots in a dream signifies receiving a small amount of money or recovering from illness.
The first apricot seen in a dream indicates spending a significant amount of money on treating an illness.
They further say that if someone sees themselves picking apricots from a tree and eating them, it implies that they will associate with a wealthy person, but the relationship will end poorly. This is because the yellow color symbolizes sickness, and it also indicates trouble in religious matters or becoming a treasurer. Yellow apricots are likened to gold coins (dinars) due to their similar color.
A famous jurist, Abu al-Qasim ibn Amr, once said:
“I dreamed that the king gave my father a few apricots. The interpretation turned out to be that the king gave him as many gold coins as the number of apricots.”
Interpretation of Jujube (Ber) in Dreams:
In dreams, jujube represents wealth that will come through divination or fortune-telling.
Some interpreters suggest it signifies obtaining a specific kind of wealth.
Seeing fresh jujubes in a dream is better than seeing dried ones.
Interpretation of Bananas in Dreams:
If someone sees themselves eating bananas in a dream, it indicates they will receive money from a wealthy Arab or non-Arab individual.
Bananas also symbolize steadfastness in religious matters.
Interpretation of Pomegranate in Dreams:
In a dream, a pomegranate represents a woman, a son, a home, wealth, and a leader.
If someone dreams that they are holding a pomegranate in their hand or eating it, and if they are deserving of a position, they will attain that position.
Seeing a pomegranate in a dream also symbolizes one’s profession.
A man once asked Imam Ibn Sirin (رحمہ اللہ) about his dream where he saw a pomegranate in his hand. Imam Ibn Sirin replied: “You will get married.”
Squeezing or drinking the juice of a pomegranate in a dream indicates that the dreamer spends a lot on themselves.
Eating the peel of a pomegranate in a dream is a sign of recovery for someone suffering from jaundice, as its effects are similar to that of Hellebore (a medicinal herb used for liver diseases).
