Islamic Dream Interpretation of Kohl in Dreams
Seeing or applying kohl in a dream symbolizes adornment and beautification for women.
For a pious person, this dream is considered favorable, but it is not the same for a transgressor.
Seeing a kohl container in a dream represents a woman, while a kohl applicator symbolizes a person who spends generously. This is because the kohl applicator goes into the kohl container and comes out with kohl, just like a wealthy man who enters his home and comes out to give charity to the needy.
The kohl applicator may also symbolize a boy or a man’s genital organ.
The Words of Imam Shihab al-Din Qarafi:
Imam Qarafi stated:
“A golden kohl applicator seen in a dream is better than a silver one, and a silver kohl applicator is better than a copper one.”
Dream Interpretations by Imam Qarafi:
A man once told Imam Qarafi, “I saw in my dream that I had a golden kohl applicator, and I was using it to apply kohl to animals’ eyes.”
Imam Qarafi responded, “You are a veterinarian. You have a child whom you are teaching to treat animals, and this child is the son of a king.” Upon investigation, the child was indeed found to be the king’s son.
Another person said to Imam Qarafi, “I saw in my dream that I had a golden kohl applicator, and I was playing with it in the soil.”
Imam Qarafi replied, “You possess something valuable that you are misusing.”
Someone else said, “I saw in my dream that I was making many kohl applicators.”
Imam Qarafi responded, “You frequently suffer from eye ailments.”
A woman said, “I saw in my dream that my kohl applicator was lost.”
Imam Qarafi replied, “Your husband will fall into the trap of another woman.”
