Dream Interpretation of Millstones and Related Visions in Dreams

Seeing a Mill in a City in a Dream:

If someone sees a mill in a city in their dream, it signifies that the people of that city are being crushed under the grindstone of oppression.

Seeing a Furnace, Smoke, or Slaughterhouse in a Dream:

A furnace emitting smoke that harms people,

A slaughterhouse where people are being executed,

A toilet in the middle of the road causing discomfort,

An unfamiliar blacksmith who troubles people or sets their homes ablaze,

Or a place in the city from where snakes emerge,

These symbols indicate suffering and hardships caused by enemies, diseases, and epidemics.

Interpreting the Type of Harm in Dreams:

If the harm is related to a mill or furnace, it suggests that epidemics will arise due to food consumption, diseases will spread, and inflation will prevail.

If the harm comes from enemies, it implies that food supplies will be cut off or crops will be damaged.

If the harm is related to a slaughterhouse, it signifies a terrifying war where rivers of blood will flow. It may also indicate harm from animals or the spread of diseases due to consuming their meat.

If the harm is related to a roadside toilet, it suggests that fever and heat-related illnesses will become rampant, especially if the dream occurs during summer.

If the harm is caused by seas or flowing rivers, it implies that water or something within it will cause damage.

If a mill is grinding grains or spinning in reverse, it signifies a drastic increase in the prices of essential food items.

If it is a windmill, it suggests a dispute or a conflict that will soon subside.

Interpretation of Specific Mill Conditions:

If someone sees the mill being operated by an ox, but it appears to be water- or air-powered, or its mechanism changes, it indicates that the dreamer will benefit from an unknown source. The presence of an ox signifies that the dreamer has ample fodder to feed the animal.

If someone dreams of putting their hand into a running mill, resulting in the loss of their hand, Shaykh Qarafi interprets this as the dreamer being a cause of discord between two individuals, leading to harm for themselves.

If someone dreams of putting barley into a mill but wheat flour comes out, Shaykh Qarafi might inquire whether the dreamer usually consumes barley. If not, the interpretation is that after experiencing poverty, the dreamer will need to resort to eating barley. Following this, they will become independent of someone noisy, sings, and dances excessively—symbolized by the spinning of the millstone, which hints at dancing.
