Islamic Dream Interpretation Meaning of Peacock, Locusts & Birds

Peacock and Locust in Dreams:

peacock:

Dreaming of a mor (peacock) symbolizes a wealthy and prosperous foreign woman.
If someone dreams of slaughtering a peacock, it signifies the death of such a woman.
Eating the meat of a peacock in a dream is a sign of inheriting wealth. A peacock is also associated with dignity and respect.

locust :

Seeing a tiddi (locust swarm) in a dream refers to an army or military force.
According to the esteemed scholar, Shahabuddin Quraafi, the abundance of tiddiyan (locusts), bhadeen (wasps), and shehad ki makhiyan (honeybees) represents large armies.
If these locusts in the dream damage crops, it indicates that these forces will bring harm or destruction.
Locusts in dreams can also symbolize diseases, droughts, and various calamities.
If someone dreams of collecting honey from a beehive or eating a locust, it indicates the acquisition of sustenance and various knowledge or benefits.

Interpretation of Birds in Dreams:

Sea Birds:

Interpreters of dreams hold sea birds in high regard because the harm caused by them is believed to be minimal. They are seen as symbols of calmness and positive energy.

Unknown Birds:

Dreaming of an unknown bird represents good news and angels, symbolizing divine messages and blessings.

Birds Falling from the Sky:

One individual approached Imam Ibn Sirin (رحمہ اللہ) and narrated, “I saw a bird fall from the sky, coming above my head and landing in front of me.” Imam Ibn Sirin interpreted it as a sign of receiving good news, bringing happiness to the dreamer.

Birds Flying Overhead:

If someone dreams of birds flying over their head, it signifies that the dreamer will gain authority or become a governor, as per the Quranic verse:

  وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً كُلٌّ لَهُ أَوَّابٌ
(Surah Sad: 38:19)

“And the birds are gathered, all of them obedient to him.”

Some interpreters believe that flying birds represent angels.

Interpretation of Bird Feathers:

A bird’s feathers, especially those that are used for decoration or aesthetic purposes, symbolize wealth and prosperity, as feathers are bought and sold.
Feathers can also symbolize clothing, as they represent the bird’s attire.
In dream interpretation, feathers are sometimes linked to children, as they are attached to the bird’s body (back).
Feathers can also be signs of a home, as birds find comfort and rest in their feathers.
Additionally, feathers are associated with power and strength, as they protect the bird (similar to how thorns defend the body).

Dreaming of slaughtering animals, speaking with animals, or changing from human to animal (or vice versa) carries various symbolic meanings. These scenarios might reflect changes in status, transformations in character, or exchanges in power between the dreamer and the creature involved. Such dreams can also indicate gaining or losing control over different aspects of life, or the necessity of humility or dominance in particular situations.
