Islamic Dream interpretation of Tannery, Mansion, and Walls
A man once narrated his dream to the esteemed teacher, Imam Shihab al-Din al-Qarafi, saying, “I saw myself in a dream bringing the hide of a dead animal to a tannery and handing it over to the tanner for cleaning.” The Sheikh interpreted the dream, saying, “You have wealth mixed with unlawful earnings, or you do not give its zakat. You are seeking a way to make it permissible, but it will not benefit you because some scholars state that the hide of a dead animal cannot be purified even through tanning.”
Another man recounted his dream, saying, “I took a buffalo hide from the tannery.” The Sheikh responded, “You have taken a garment from a prominent person. If, in the dream, the hide had already been tanned, you acquired the garment lawfully; otherwise, you took it unlawfully.”
Another individual described his dream, saying, “I took a dry buffalo hide to the tannery, but a dog came and devoured it.” The Sheikh asked, “Did you intend to sprinkle water on a garment or wash it?” The man replied, “Yes.” The Sheikh then said, “That garment has been stolen.”
Another person dreamed that he brought his hide to the tannery. The Sheikh interpreted, “Your death is near, and your wealth will be lost.”
A man narrated a dream where he saw a tanner cleaning his hide. The Sheikh explained, “You will fall ill and call a doctor.”
The esteemed teacher, Imam Shihab al-Din al-Qarafi, gave these interpretations, all of which came to pass exactly as he had described.
Islamic Dream interpretation of Mansion:
If someone dreams of building a mansion, it signifies that they will experience goodness and blessings in proportion to their circumstances.
If the dreamer is needy, it indicates that they will soon receive clothes as a gift.
An unfamiliar mansion seen in a dream represents a graveyard. If someone sees themselves entering an unknown mansion and not leaving it, it means their death is near. However, if they enter the mansion and later come out of it, it indicates that they will face severe illness, come close to death, but ultimately recover.
Some interpreters add that the interpretation of death applies when the unknown mansion is isolated from other houses. I consider this addition to be completely accurate.
The house seen in a dream can also symbolize a woman:
If the house appears dark, it means the woman has poor morals.
If the dreamer is a woman, the house represents her husband.
If a man dreams of an iron house, it means his wife will stay with him for a long time.
If someone dreams of entering a house where water is sprinkled, it means they will experience discomfort from their wife in proportion to the water sprinkled.
If a person dreams of being locked in a house with its door shut, it symbolizes their avoidance of sin, as Allah states:
“And she closed the doors firmly.”
(Surah Yusuf: 12:23)
If someone sees their house made of gold in a dream, it signifies that their house will catch fire.
Islamic Dream interpretation of Wall:
Seeing a wall in a dream symbolizes a person of authority or a religious, righteous individual.
If the wall is intact, the dreamer is in a state of safety.
If someone sees their reflection in a wall, it indicates death, as the wall, made of earth and stone, resembles a grave.
