Seeing the earth in a dream signifies one’s parents, as Allah Almighty states:
“From it We created you.“ (Quran)
The earth can also symbolize one’s spouse because seeds are sown in the earth, resulting in plants and trees.

The appearance of the earth in a dream can also indicate one’s livelihood, as the earth is a source of sustenance. It is a sign of every beneficial thing.

If someone dreams of owning fertile land or farming on it, it means they will benefit from the aforementioned relationships.
If someone sees the earth turning into the sea, ice, wood, or something unsuitable for farming, it signifies the destruction of crops, instability in livelihood, or potential disappointment regarding a spouse’s pregnancy. It could also hint at the death of parents or close relatives or illness affecting livestock since such earth is unusable, much like a diseased animal.

A stonemason once dreamt that the earth had turned into iron and benefited him. Upon seeking the interpretation from Imam Shihabuddin Qarafi, he was advised to switch professions to become a blacksmith or sell iron, which he later confirmed he had done.

Another man, whose profession was brickmaking, dreamt that the bricks he made turned into wood. Imam Qarafi told him he would become a carpenter, which also came true.

If the earth produces flowers, fragrant plants, lush greenery, sweet water, bread, or towns, such dreams symbolize profit in trade or farming. These dreams can also indicate a decrease in the prices of goods or provisions through parents, children, spouses, or friends.

If the earth in the dream turns to smoke, fire, or mud, it indicates troubles and hardships. Such difficulties could manifest as fear, illness, enemies, losses, disputes, or unlawful wealth.

If flowers bloom or sweet fragrances emanate from the earth, the dream signifies benefits from those who nurture or irrigate the land.
If the earth turns into bread, the benefit will come from someone who bakes or sells bread.
If the earth transforms into palm trees, the advantage will be from travellers or villagers.
If the earth becomes honey or sugar, it means profit from someone dealing in or using honey or sugar.

A person once dreamed of gathering flowers. Imam Qarafi, upon being consulted, asked if the person owned beehives. The individual confirmed, and Qarafi predicted that the bees would flourish, as they draw strength from flowers.

If the earth turns to smoke, the interpretation might include losses from a baker, cook, or fire-related worker.

If it turns to mud or clay, the loss might stem from masons, shipbuilders, or brickmakers.

If the earth turns into snakes or emits a foul smell, it could mean losses due to a potter, livestock breeder, or butcher.

If the earth turns to blood, it suggests harm from a barber, surgeon, or war.
If a lion emerges from the earth, it signifies a tyrannical ruler.
If a snake emerges, it indicates a calamity in the area.
If a young man emerges, it symbolizes enmity among people in that place.

If a traveller sees the earth fold for them, it means their journey will be easy and swift.
If a resident sees this, it indicates their lifespan is nearing its end.
If the earth expands, it suggests an increase in livelihood.

Specific Actions in Dreams

Wrapping the earth with one’s hands signifies attaining rulership if one is capable.
Walking over the earth indicates inheriting wealth, as Allah says:
“And He caused you to inherit their land, their homes, their wealth, and a land you had not trodden.” (Quran 33:27)

Earth-related Challenges in Dreams

Digging the earth in a dream signifies hardship. Eating from it indicates deceitful earnings.
If someone sees themselves sinking into the earth, it means their deceitfully gained wealth will perish, and friends will turn into enemies, as demonstrated in the story of Qarun.
Disappearing into the earth signifies death or a long journey.
If the earth speaks, it symbolizes gaining wealth. If the earth speaks kindly, it means benefits in religion and worldly life. If the earth rebukes, it suggests unlawful earnings. If the earth speaks incomprehensibly, it indicates earnings through doubtful means.
