Meaning of Being Struck in a Dream
Imam Shihab al-Din al-Qarafi explains that when someone is struck in a dream, it often means that the striker will humiliate or trouble the person being struck. This interpretation is based on the idea that the struck person remains silent and does not respond to the blow.
Status of the Striker and the Struck
If the struck person has a higher status than the striker, humiliation or hardship is expected for the one being struck.
If the striker has a higher rank (which is common), then the striker will eventually feel regret and treat the struck person kindly in real life.
Receiving Benefits Through Being Struck
Imam Qarafi explains that the one being struck may receive clothing, especially in the winter, because striking and clothing both create warmth.
In general, being struck in a dream indicates receiving benefit from the striker — as long as the blow is not delivered with a wooden stick.
Symbolism of the Wooden Stick
If the striker uses a wooden stick, it symbolizes that the striker will make a promise to the struck person but will not fulfill it.
Interpretation When the Striker Is a King
If a dreamer sees a king striking them:
If the king uses anything other than wood, it means the king will provide the dreamer with clothing.
If the king strikes the back, it symbolizes that the king will repay the dreamer’s debt.
If the king strikes the ear, it indicates that the king will take away the dreamer’s daughter.

Sometimes, striking in a dream represents cursing, wishing harm, or invoking negativity toward someone.
If a person dreams that they are striking someone, it means they are cursing or speaking ill of that individual.
