Islamic Dream Interpretation of Rats or Mouse
Interpretation of Seeing a Rat or Mouse in a Dream:
Seeing a rat in a dream symbolizes a thief.
Seeing a mouse in a dream signifies an immoral or corrupt woman.
A man once told Imam Ibn Sirin (رحمه الله) that he dreamt of a mouse giving birth, and inside the mouse, he found a date. The Imam interpreted this as:
“Your wife is an immoral woman, but she is pregnant and will give birth to a virtuous child.”
The connection between a mouse and an immoral woman stems from a saying of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), where he referred to a mouse as corrupt, while he described dates as pure and good food.
If someone dreams of many mice leaving their house, it means that the blessings and sustenance they currently enjoy will diminish. This interpretation is based on the fact that mice typically inhabit places where food and provisions are abundant.
Another person narrated a dream to the honorable scholar Hazrat Qirafi:
He dreamt of a black and a white mouse digging into a watermelon, removing the seeds, throwing them outside, and then eating them.
The scholar interpreted:
“You had a warehouse where wheat and barley were stored. Two servants have stolen the wheat and barley.”
The interpretation proved to be entirely accurate.
