In a dream, the interpretation of oil:
If someone sees in their dream that they are applying oil to their head and the oil does not spill over, it indicates that if the person is a city ruler, they will treat their subjects well. If they own agricultural lands, they will water their crops.
If someone sees that oil has spilt onto their body or clothes, it signifies poverty and distress.
A person saw in their dream that they were applying oil to their head, and the oil was flowing from their mouth and nose. Upon being asked, Imam Shihab al-Din Qarafi said, “You will experience a cold.”
Another person saw the same dream, and the Imam said, “Your roof collapsed on you.”
A man told Imam Qarani about his dream, saying, “I saw that I was colouring people’s heads with something.” The Imam said, “You make helmets for people.”
Another person saw the opposite dream and said, “I saw that I was colouring people’s helmets.” The Imam said, “You will become the overseer of a bathhouse.” He meant that the person would apply some coloured substance to the heads of people coming to the bathhouse.
Another man narrated to Imam Qarani, “I saw in my dream that I was oiling the dome of Bayt al-Maqdis.” The Imam said, “You will wash the head of a king or a righteous person.”
Another individual told the Sheikh, “I saw in my dream that I was oiling the head of the king in Damascus.” The Imam said, “You will carry out some construction or welfare work in the mosque of Damascus.”
