General Interpretation of Seeing a Pig:
A pig seen in a dream symbolizes a cunning enemy.
Riding a pig represents the acquisition of wealth and prosperity.
The King of Iran, Khosrow, saw in his dream that he was drinking wine from a golden cup, and a pig was drinking wine from the same cup.
The interpreter explained: “Gather all your wives. Blindfold me and take me to them.” The interpreter was brought to the women, and he began playing a sarangi (a musical instrument). He then told the king to have all the women strip and dance.
When one particular woman was about to dance, some of the king’s attendants remarked, “This is a very shy maid; don’t make her dance.”
The interpreter insisted: “No, she must dance.” When her clothes were removed, it was revealed that she was a man. The interpreter then said, “This is the interpretation of your dream. The cup represents your maid, the wine represents your enjoyment with her, and the pig represents the man who is committing adultery with your wives.”
One man saw in his dream a pomegranate growing on pigskin, and he ate it.
Imam Shihab al-Din al-Qarafi interpreted: “You are committing fornication with a Christian woman, and she is pregnant.” The man confirmed: “You have spoken correctly.”
Another person saw pigs digging the ground and eating fire.
The interpreter explained: “Some people at your place are searching for something but will find nothing. It’s also possible that they are Christians.”
Another man dreamed that he was taking dirty clothes from a pig.
The interpreter explained: “You are living with a grave robber and buying stolen shrouds.”
The man acknowledged: “You have spoken correctly.”
Another person saw a pig being taught to plough the land.
The interpreter explained: “You are learning reading and writing from a Christian.”
