Seeing Humans in Dreams

An important rule in this regard is that if a person seen in a dream is someone known to the dreamer, then it refers to that very person. If the person is unknown, it can be interpreted as referring to their son, a relative, or a namesake. When an unknown person is seen in a dream, there are four categories: small children, young individuals, middle-aged individuals, and elderly people.

Seeing Small Children:

If someone sees in a dream that they are a child and growing up, and they do not have a wife or a servant with whom pregnancy is possible, nor is there anyone to lift them or hold them in their arms, or if someone sees that they have become a child, then in both cases, they will face humiliation and disgrace. This sign will persist as long as the word “child” applies to them, whether the child is very small or six years old. I have had this experience multiple times.

The respected scholar Shahabuddin Qaraafi specifically mentions children who are of no use, such as a child aged four or younger. He says, “Because such a child is generally dependent on others and cannot distinguish between right and wrong.” He further adds, “A child aged five or older indicates benefit and comfort because such a child can perform various tasks.” According to the meaning of this statement, if a child is present in the dream or if the dreamer is in charge of that child, it signifies the fulfilment of tasks. This is supported by his further statement: “If someone sees in a dream that they own a child of five years or older, their pending tasks will be completed, and their problems will be resolved.” He also mentioned: “An unusually large number of children in a dream indicates a calamity or hardship because the financial responsibility for them lies upon the dreamer.”

One person dreamt that an infant was walking in his lap. Imam Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) told him: “Fear Allah and stop playing the sarangi (a musical instrument).” Another person had the same dream, and he was told: “You will establish a school and teach children.”

One person dreamt that he had become the owner of several children. Imam Shahabuddin Qaraafi interpreted this as: “You had vowed to provide clothes to children or the needy, but you did not fulfill it. So, you must complete that vow.” Another person had the same dream and was told: “You will go insane, and children will play with you.” Another person had the same dream and was told: “You will fall into an illicit love for children, and this will bring calamity upon you.”

One person dreamt that he had become a child. The scholar interpreted this as: “You will likely lose your sanity or face imprisonment.”

Another person dreamt that he had become the owner of several people. The scholar told him: “You treat people with kindness.” Yet another person had the same dream and saw that he had transformed into a crocodile. The scholar interpreted it as: “The one whom you have done a favour will repay you in the same way as a crocodile would.”

All of these interpretations by the esteemed Sheikh Shahabuddin Qaraafi came true as per his instruction.
